General Terms And Condition
- SkyAid Air Ambulance is not an insurance. We must make all the arrangements for air medical transport services.
- SkyAid Member is eligible to receive an emergency medical assistance fund to help cover the bill at the receiving hospital that may exceed any insurance or medical benefits.
- Decisions regarding urgency of the case, the best timing, and most suitable means of transportation will be made by the SkyAid Air Ambulance medical director after consultation with the attending physician and member's receiving physician.
- SkyAid members are entitled to two (2) transports per year provided that they do not occur within the same 30 day period.
- Remote evacuation to the closest medical facility will constitute one member transport with regard to the allowable transport per year. Continued transfer to another hospital will not be covered.
- Transportation from remote areas or islands to a location with an airfield/helipad/landing site accessible to medical aircraft is not provided. Costs of evacuation from these remote areas are the responsibility of the member.
- Due to limited medical and laboratory facilities on cruise ships/yachts, in some cases our medical director may require a member to be admitted to a hospital onshore before scheduling air medical transportation to another hospital.
- The patient and an accompanying passenger are limited to one small carry-on bag each due to limited space available on medical aircraft. We will assist in arranging for additional luggage to be forwarded at the member's expense.
- If member's condition permits, he or she may be transported as a patient on a scheduled commercial airline in the care of a medical team.
- Family members, business associates, and/or travelling companions accompanying patients transported as a patient on a scheduled commercial airline are responsible for their own airfare.
- One family member, business associate, and/or travelling companion may accompany the patient, at no additional cost, on the medical aircraft if space is available and the patient's care is not compromised.
- Intentional or unintentional errors or omissions information provided to SkyAid may result in the refuse of services and/or cancellation of the membership.
- Membership enrolments and renewals are no transferable, non-refundable and subject to approval SkyAid Air Ambulance.
- Members will not be entitled to air medical transport benefits if their illness or injury is the result of or contributed to by the following:
- War, invasion, or civil war.
- Attempted suicide or intentional self-injury.
- Alcohol or drug abuse.
- A member's own criminal/ felonious act, or sustain while the member is in a state of insanity.
- A member with an infectious disease or suffering from tuberculosis or other chronic airborne pathogens at the time of enrolment will not be transported for a condition related to that infection.
- A member on an organ transplant list prior to enrolment will not be entitled to a transport for the transplant.
- Airgurus’ SkyAid reserves the right to change or amend these rules and regulations without notice to member.
- The interpretation and application of the rules and regulations communicated in this publication, as well as any subsequent changes or amendments, are with the sole discretion of SkyAid Air Ambulance management.
- All determinations by SkyAid Air Ambulance shall final and conclusive in each case.
- By applying for membership you accept and agree SkyAid Air Ambulance terms and conditions membership.
